چکیده

Recent advances in dentistry have enabled different treatment options in prosthetic dentistry, one of them is in relation to magnets which are available in small size and with strong attractive force. This magnets can be used for overdenture attachments which increases the stability of denture and reduces the lateral forces on abutment tooth. Rationale for tooth supported overdenture are to preserve the alveolar bone and proprioception feedback. Proprioception of periodontal ligament helps to sense position and movements of mandible, it prevents excessive occlusal load and also improves masticatory performance. Magnet retained overdenture may also be an alternative option for abutments with reduced periodontal support. There are different types of magnetic attachments available commercially. Here in this case report magnetic attachment of megfit is used for overdenture.

The Clinical Trial of Patient Satisfaction with Tooth and Magnet Supported Overdenture

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of magnet retained overdenture treatment over tooth supported overdenture and degree to which subjective treatment outcome could be predicted by VAS (Visual Analogue Scale). 10 patients were identified and conventional over denture was delivered, they form group A1. In the same patients magnets were attached to the abutments and the same ove...

Magnet-Retained Two-Mini-Implant Overdenture: Clinical and Mechanical Consideration

Two-implant overdentures have become the accepted treatment for restoring mandibular edentulism. The dimensions of regular implants sometimes limit their use, such as in the case of narrow ridges. Mini-implants with reduced diameters (less than 3.0 mm) enable insertion into narrow ridges. A magnet-retained two-mini-implant overdenture system was developed and is described in this paper. Additio...

Implant Retained Overdenture Improves the Retention and Stability by Using a Locator System in a Mandibular Edentulous patient: A Case Report

Abstract Complete maxillary and mandibular dentures have been used as a conventional treatment of edentulous patients for longer than a century. Suitable complete maxillary dentures are usually well tolerated but many patients struggle to chew and swallow with the complete mandibular denture because it is too unstable. Previous studies have shown that a mandibular two-implant retained overdentu...
